WHEN DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU WANTED TO BECOME A BEAUTY WRITER?

Pretty early on I knew that I wanted to work in either fashion or beauty. I was a magazine obsessed teenager and used to have a huge collection of tear sheets that I would just pore over. I was lucky enough to get work experience in the beauty department of Marie Claire just after I left university and once I’d started there I knew it was beauty and not fashion that would be the industry for me.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR CAREER SO FAR?

I’ve been lucky enough to work with some incredible people and travel to some amazing places in my career. A real highlight was being taken to Rio de Janiero on a press trip and chartering a helicopter to take a small group of us to fly up and around Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado Mountain. That was just mind blowing and an experience I’ll never forget. I was lucky enough to go backstage at the international fashion shows for years before it became this huge big machine, and watching some of the most creative makeup artists and hair stylists at work at such close quarters was so inspiring. I also made some of my best friends in the industry who will be friends for life so I count myself very lucky on that front too.

WHAT ARE THE LATEST SKINCARE INGREDIENTS YOU ARE EXCITED ABOUT?

I’m really interested in microbiotic skincare at the moment and brands that are using pre and postbiotics in their formulas to really improve skin health. Anything that is looking to really support the fundamental health of the skin’s ecosystem is exciting.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SHADE OF SANN LIP SERUM?

I’m a big fan of Wild. I don’t often wear deep lip colours because they’re always a bit more high maintenance than neutrals but I love the fact that Wild is a very easy to wear berry shade that requires zero effort on my part. It keeps my lips conditioned and nourished so the colour stays looking great and it’s so simple to slick on, I don’t even need to use a mirror to apply.

WHAT IS YOUR ALL-TIME FAVOURITE MAKE-UP TRICK?

At the moment I like applying liquid highlighter first, underneath my base. I find it gives such a natural looking glow and because I’m trying to show off that lovely luminosity, it means I’m less heavy handed with my foundation.
